Furrest City 2025: Mini-Con Code of Conduct

Public Decorum/Convention Space (sears think[box])

Food and beverages may not be brought into the auditorium area.

Attendees shall not touch or move any artwork or installation placed by the venue.

Please do not affix anything to the walls, doors, signage, elevators, or other areas of the convention space.

Do not leave empty bottles, glasses, or trash behind. Clean up after yourself. 

Do not throw items from any elevated space. 

Indoor or outdoor drone operations are prohibited without written authorization from FCY. 

Please do not sleep in the convention space. 

Attendees may not enter restricted areas unless authorized by Furrest City, Inc. Do not tamper with equipment including fire alarms and smoke detectors. 

Theft or vandalism of equipment or any item is prohibited

Open display of adult art work is not permitted. 

Lewd displays of affection are prohibited.

Animals

Animals, except service animals as defined in 28 CFR 36.104 of the Americans with Disabilities Act, are prohibited in convention spaces. 

Minors

Individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians at all times. 

Clothing

Clothing and costumes must not be overly revealing, lewd, or suggestive. Collars are acceptable. However, another person may not hold leashes. 

Wearing or displaying garments, costumes, or signage that are deemed by FCY to intimidate, or communicate hostile messaging or sentiment is not permitted anywhere in public or convention spaces. Individuals in violation of this policy will be required to remove such items. Clothing, costumes, and signage may not violate policies listed in “harassment, hate speech, symbols” below. 

Footwear and proper clothing are required in all convention spaces. This may include articles of clothing that are part of a costume (including fursuits). 

Sales of Goods and Services

Sales of any sort may not be conducted in convention spaces. 

Smoking, Alcohol, and other Substances

Smoking is not permitted inside the convention space or on university property. This includes vaping. 

Alcohol is not permitted within the convention space unless they are served from a provider licensed for on-site consumption. Public intoxication is not permitted. 

Any attendee found to be selling or otherwise distributing any controlled substances will have their registration revoked, reported to local authorities, and may be expelled from the venue.

Weapons

No functioning or realistic appearing weapons may be carried or displayed in the convention space at any time. Projectile devices or props are not allowed.

Brandishing any weapon for any reason is not allowed, and will result in the confiscation of the weapon for the duration of the convention.

Harassment, Hate Speech, and Symbols

Harassment of any kind, including physical assault, battery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome physical attention, will not be tolerated.

Speech in any form that promotes or encourages discrimination, harassment, or violence based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, or nationality is strictly prohibited.

Photography and Video

Photography, film, and video recordings by convention members for personal use are generally allowed in all common areas of the convention. No image recording is allowed in the Art Show.

Photography, film, or video recordings in convention spaces for the purposes of sale, publication, mass media, or public dissemination is expressly prohibited without written authority from Furrest City, Inc. 

All journalists, media photographers, and other members of the press are required to display an official FCY press badge and be accompanied by a designated member of FCY staff at all times while in convention spaces. Members of the press who have not been issued a press badge may not conduct interviews or take photographs, audio, or video footage without an escort, and may be subject to removal from venue property. Media representatives who do not have press badges or are not escorted by a designated FCY staff member should be reported to convention security staff or to convention operations immediately.

Please be courteous and ask permission first before photographing or filming individuals.
