About Us
Welcome to Furrest City. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating out of Cleveland, Ohio. We aim to connect the local furry community by running fun and accessible events- from fur walks to game nights and rapid rides.
Our Story
Furrest City originated in 2024 after we noticed a lack of transit-accessible events in the Greater Cleveland area and a lack of events in the city of Cleveland. Our efforts at supporting the furry community soon evolved into an attempt to bring back a furry convention to the Cleveland area after Confurence East 1996 ended almost 30 years ago. Furrest City is named after “Forest City,” a nickname for the city of Cleveland.
Mascots
Lorain (Opossum)
Lorain is named after Lorain Avenue which is a major thoroughfare in Cleveland and home to the highest-ridership local bus route, the 22 Lorain.
Moon (Husky)
Moon is named after the Moondog Coronation Ball held in Cleveland in 1952. This was considered the world’s first ever Rock and Roll Concert.
Our Team
Kezl | They/He
Board Member
Kezl is a co-founder of Furrest City and is the wolf/coyote who runs around causing chaos. They became active in the fandom in 2022 after deciding to volunteer at local conventions while in college in St. Louis. Outside of the fandom, they are involved in public transit and mobility advocacy. You will likely find them on a bus, train, or bike wandering the city.
Florere
Board Member/Treasurer
Florere is a co-founder of Furrest City. Florere has been in the fandom for 10+ years and brings over a decade of financial and accounting expertise for governmental entities and non-profits to Furrest City! When they aren’t weaseling their way into spreadsheets you’ll be sure to find them ferreting around in the garden cultivating ingredients for a new culinary adventure.
Peake | He/Him
Board Member/Venue Coordinator
Peake is a co-founder of Furrest City who enjoys various maker/mad scientist shenanigans including building model trains, tinkering with his suit (himself? Don’t think about it too hard) or mounting a jet engine to the back of his bike.
Mythic | They/She
Board Member/Programming Director
Mythic is a co-founder of Furrest City. Mythic has been an artist in the fandom for many years and is happy to be starting their role as the Programming Director. In their free time they like to draw and work on fursuit making as well as other projects. They occasionally hosts small get togethers as well!
DevKitsune | He/They
Board Member/IT Director
Dev is a co-founder of Furrest City and a fox who loves computers and old technology. When not working on some hacked together electronics project you can find them biking around the city, taking photos, or baking bread.

Ally
Board Member
Ally is a co-founder of Furrest City. If you’ve been involved in any Ohio Furs stuff in the last couple years, you’ve probably seen Ally around – they do all the stuff to help make sure you’re able to see what meets are going on around the state by sharing weekly posts across various social media platforms. They’ve been in the fandom for over two decades now, in some capacity or another, including managing NEO Furs (North East Ohio) for a decent portion of that time (from the mailing list on Tigerden, to the Telegram group today). Ally is an artist, a zinester, a jack of all trades!
